A robotic grinding wheel and gripper changing system is integrated into a circular knife processing cell. The cell consists of two peripheral grinding machines with complete encapsulation of both machines, a robot and a magazine for circular knives.
The CNC grinding machines perform bevel and surface grinding on circular knives with a grinding angle of -10° to +25°.
The grinding wheel change as well as the loading and unloading of the workpieces are carried out by a robot. With a gripper changing system integrated in the robot arm, a tool changing gripper or a double gripper for loading and unloading the workpieces is attached to the robot.
