On June 26, the Rector of the University of Wuppertal, Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolff, visited the Berger Gruppe together with her advisor Anne Palka and the Head of Foundation & Cooperation Management at the Bergisch University of Wuppertal (BUW), Annika Grübler.

The topics of discussion with company boss Dr. Andreas Groß were varied, as the Berger Gruppe has been working closely with the University of Wuppertal for ten years. The results of this cooperation are, for example, the annual sponsorship of two BUW students as part of the Germany Scholarship or Dr. Groß's special mechanical engineering lectures at the University of Wuppertal, the practical part of which takes place in the Berger Gruppe's production facility.

In addition to a tour of production, Dr. Groß showed his guests the banks of the Wupper adjacent to the company premises, where a flood level pressure sensor was installed as part of the Bergisch Flood Protection System 4.0 - a project on which the Berger Gruppe and the Bergisch University are working together with the Wupper Association, the Bergische Struktur- und Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft, the Wuppertaler Stadtwerke and the Bergisch Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
