The practical seminar was developed by the Institute for Machining Technology at TU Dortmund University (Director: Prof. Dirk Biermann) together with FWI and the Berger Gruppe. The ISF is one of the leading German institutes in the field of grinding technology in research and teaching.

The aim of the practical seminar is to provide employees from production, quality assurance and work preparation at machine knife manufacturers with up-to-date fundamentals and practical knowledge on grinding, dressing and the necessary measuring technology.

The contents and practical exercises and demonstrations are deliberately designed to be practical and generally understandable.

The seminar will be rounded off by a lecture on current developments in grinding technology by Dr. Andreas Groß (Berger Gruppe) and by a joint closing snack in the ISF test field.
