The robot plant combines several processing steps transforming a raw blade into a finished blade:

• grinding of the back of the knife
• grinding of the lateral faces
• sharpening and polishing out of the edge
• cleaning and drying of the finished knife blade

In addition to that an accompanying quality control and a quality control of the finished workpiece are carried out.

The customer's magazines have been integrated into the automation concept, e.g. unloading the workpiece directly into the sales packaging.

The task has been realized by means of four robots, flat grinding machines of the series BG1/NT2-CNC and belt grinding and polishing stations.
