"Großartige Innovation": ife-Award 2021 für die Berger-Gruppe

"This allows Germany to survive as a business location," said Manfred Deues, praising the innovation of Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik as a "really great achievement." Today, Tuesday morning, November 16, 2021, the entrepreneur, in his capacity as President of the ife network, presented the Kohlfurth machine builder with the "ife.Award" 2021.

At the award ceremony at the headquarters of the Berger Gruppe, ife President Deues and Network Managing Director Michael Braetz were enthusiastic about the fully automated machining cell that the "hidden champion" from Kohlfurth Bridge 69 had "worked out": The resounding plus point of the grinding machine innovation: as Berger co-chief Dr. Andreas Groß explained, the Berger innovation reduces the previous so-called "set-up times" of the systems by up to 95 percent.

"They can be mighty proud of what they have achieved," ife President Manfred Deues appropriately praised the diligence, competence, innovative strength and heart and soul of the Kohlfurth family company. One usually dreams of 95 percent reductions, and accordingly the jury awarded the Berger innovation the ife Innovation Award by a wide margin. "That's saying something, because we're already asking for a lot," said the network's president, calling the Berger development an "outstanding" example of Industry 4.0.
