Feeding of lower and upper part

Feeding of lower and upper part

Robot cells and processing cells with CNC grinding machines can be equipped with different feed and magazine systems for stackable and non-stackable workpieces.

The Berger Feeder transport system enables the unorganized feeding of tong parts via a conveyor belt in conjunction with a camera system.

Process integration: Milling of pliers

Two milling stations are integrated into the machining cell for pliers.

  • Preparation of workpieces for subsequent sanding
  • Special device for CNC milling centers for centering, drilling, thread cutting and milling (image on the right)
  • Fixture construction and development
  • Robot automation and process connection with grinding or deburring station

Contour grinding on pliers

Contour grinding on pliers

The CNC-controlled peripheral grinding machine from the PH/PB series achieves contour grinding on gripper parts with an additional vertical axis.

  • Grinding wheel width up to 130 mm
  • X-axis travel up to 640 mm
  • Grinding wheel Ø 400 mm (to be machined down to 300 mm)
  • Three-axis grinding table
    – X-axis = main feed with linear motor
    – A-axis = tilting axis/cutting angle
    – V-axis = vertical axis

Feeding bottom and top parts

The workpieces are fed to the next production step via the Berger Feeder transport system.

The position of the gripper parts is measured by camera and passed on to the handling robots, which pick up the workpieces and place them in the downstream production machine or in a magazine system.

The Berger Gruppe offers robotic cells for processing hand and garden tools in which the workpiece is guided by the robot.

The workpiece is fed either via a loading magazine or in bulk via a Berger Feeder. The robot grips the workpiece and feeds it to the individual processing stations.

The robot cell shown here is equipped as follows:

  • Four belt grinding stations
  • Magazine for pliers
  • Camera measurement system

Magazine system for pliers

Robot cells and processing cells with CNC grinding machines can be equipped with different feed/magazine systems for stackable and non-stackable workpieces.

The design of the loading/unloading magazines depends on various requirements:

  • Required magazine capacity
  • Shape of the workpieces
  • Variety of workpiece shapes
  • Integration into previous production stage
  • Orientation of the workpieces

A revolving chain magazine is usually used as a loading magazine to store pliers.
