1952 | The brothers Hans and Wilhelm Hauschild inherited the grinding shop from their parents. This traditional family business had been run for several generations and was located in Irlich, a suburb of Neuwied (Germany).
1956 | The two brothers were highly motivated to automate purely manual grinding and polishing, so they spent their limited time looking for new and innovative developments. The result was the first prototype of a single-shaft polishing machine, which soon took over some manual polishing tasks.
The fruits of their labor were rewarded with numerous sales all over the world. In the same year, the Hauschild brothers were awarded the first patent for their successful invention. In addition, the “Ministry of Economics and Transport” for Rhineland-Palatinate awarded the certificate of “economic efficiency” for this invention in the same year.
In the following decades, all further developments were patented.

1971 | The death of his older brother Hans Hauschild made Wilhelm the sole owner of the company.
Continuous research over the years led to the successful development of the first fully automatic and CNC-controlled transfer system for polishing large quantities of cutlery. This ensured a successful and secure future for the company. The product range was expanded to include machines for the manufacture of hollow glass products (pots, washbasins, etc.), picture frames, hand tools and components for the automotive industry.
1990 | Wilhelm Hauschild died as a result of a long-term illness.
His wife Hannelore continued to run the company until 2003.

2004 | Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik in Wuppertal took control of the company. Karlheinz Berger’s two sons-in-law became the new owners and managing directors of Hauschild.
Under the management of the two dynamic and internationally experienced professionals – supported by a strong team of highly qualified employees – the future of Hauschild was secured.
