Berger Gruppe

Our teams

The employees of the Berger Gruppe work in the following five divisions:
production engineering and mechanical production | service and commissioning | assembly and process technology | robotics and CNC automation | electrical engineering | design and IT | commercial division | grinding wheel production

Construction

Construction / Technical Office

Engineers and highly qualified technicians work on modern CAD workstations in the design department:

  • Construction and detail drawings
  • Parts lists
  • Operating orders
  • Installation plans
  • Machine documentation
  • Spare parts inquiries

Software Development and Automation

The software department develops programs for:

  • CNC controls
  • Robots
  • Programmable logic controllers

Here, particular emphasis is placed on workpiece-oriented and user-friendly programming. In addition, the development and integration of modern measurement technology, e.g. laser, camera and touch sensors, is necessary.

Testing department

Testing Department/ Process Development

This department carries out customer trials before orders are placed and develops new processes for machining new workpieces.

In addition to the robot technology center with various grinding units, CNC and conventional grinding machines are also available for trials in the grinding technology center.

Robotics and CNC Automation

The software department develops programs for:

  • CNC controls
  • Robots
  • Programmable logic controllers

Here, particular emphasis is placed on workpiece-oriented and user-friendly programming. In addition, the development and integration of modern measurement technology, e.g. laser, camera and touch sensors, is necessary.

Mechanical metal cutting

Machining Production

Most of the necessary machine parts are manufactured on state-of-the-art processing machines. This includes, for example, the machining of:

  • Smallest fixture parts,
  • Feed slides up to
  • Machine bodies

Only the highest precision work guarantees the long service life of Berger Gruppe machines.

Welding Shop

In this department, among other things

  • Machine body,
  • Stone hoods
  • all sheet metal parts

are welded and manufactured.

Switch cabinet construction

Electrical Engineering

The team in the electrical department is responsible for

  • Power generation and distribution systems
  • Installation of electronic components
  • Alignment of various drive systems
  • Design of control cabinets
  • Wiring of machines, control cabinets and robots

Service and Commissioning

The competent staff of this department is responsible for:

  • Commissioning and acceptance of the machines, robots and magazine units
  • Customer training and support
  • Worldwide on-site service

The innovative control and complex measurement technology requires ever higher qualifications from the responsible mechatronics engineers, who are responsible for ensuring that the machines function perfectly for the customer.

Service and commissioning
Assembly

Assembly and Fixture construction

During the mechanical assembly of the machines, the individual machine parts are joined together. This involves:

  • Feeding systems
  • Headstocks
  • Feeds with various drive systems and complete machines

The installation of e.g. ball screws and linear motors with the smallest manufacturing tolerances requires the highest standards from the specialist personnel responsible.

Grinding stone production

Grinding stones with different bond types and grit sizes are produced here. The further development of the machines also requires the use of modern grinding tools.

The department is also responsible for the packaging and worldwide shipping of machines, machine parts and grinding stones.

Slip ring production
Administration building

Commercial Office

The Berger Gruppe’s commercial department is divided into the following areas:

  • Accounting,
  • Personnel office,
  • Marketing,
  • Sale of grinding wheels.
  • Distribution
  • Administration

The sales department is supported by two external employees, the American subsidiary Berger L.L.C. and representatives in 14 countries worldwide.
Over the last six decades, the Berger Gruppe has exported over 5,000 machines and systems to 71 countries on five continents.
