Peripheral grinding wheels
Peripheral grinding wheels are used in peripheral grinding machines. These achieve face, chamfer or serrated grinding on workpieces. The effective surface of the longitudinal grinding is the circumference of the grinding wheel. Depending on the workpiece and the desired amount of material to be removed, either pendulum or plunge-cut grinding is used. If the workpiece is machined using the deep grinding process, a large amount of material can be removed and a good surface quality can be achieved.
Profiled peripheral grinding wheels are used to achieve serrated grinding, scalloped grinding and/or serration.
Bakelite or ceramic-bonded grinding wheels with 200-600 mm Ø are used.
