BG/V: Grinding knife blades with inclined bolsters
The BG/V series flat bevel grinding machine has been specially designed for grinding knife blades with inclined bolsters. The grinding machine is equipped with four contouring axes.
In addition to the technical data listed in BG, the machine has the following technical specifications:
- Sanding length 300-640 mm
- Mounting flange for grinding wheels 450-710 mm ∅
- Spindle drive 22-45 kW
- Spindle with backlash-free preloaded precision bearing, designed for a peripheral speed of up to 50 m/s
- Grinding table with four axes:
X-axis = main feed axis Grinding table driven by linear motor
Z-axis = feed axis Grinding wheel
V-axis = vertical axis
A-v = tilting axis/cutting edge angle - Digital axis drives on preloaded ball screw Y- and V-axes or precision reduction gear A-axis, digital axis drive linear motor for X-axis
- Additional axis arrangement with stone axis Z and W axis for slip ring compensation. The Z-axis is used as an axis for grinding the workpieces. It is used when the stroke of the stone axis is not sufficient for grinding the workpieces. Examples of this are wide machine knives where both the flat surface and the cutting edge are ground in a single clamping operation.
