A robotic grinding wheel and gripper changing system is integrated into a processing cell for circular knives. The cell consists of two peripheral grinding machines with a complete enclosure for the two machines, a robot and a magazine for circular knives.

The CNC-controlled grinding machines achieve bevel and surface grinding on circular knives with a grinding angle of -10° to +25°.

The grinding wheel is changed and the workpieces are loaded and unloaded by a robot. Either a tool changing gripper or a double gripper for loading and unloading the workpieces is mounted on the robot arm via a robot gripper changing system integrated into the robot arm.
