Manual deburring and fettling, as a non-value-added activity, accounts for a significant portion of the time even in highly automated production of cast and forged parts, and—due to a lack of process reliability—leads to a high risk of rework and scrap, often only at the end of the process chain.

At the upcoming Euroguss trade show, the Berger Gruppe will present solutions for robotic deburring and fettling of cast and forged parts. In the processing cell on display, a cobot will guide the workpiece through two processing stations in a simulated environment.

(Fully) automated robotic machining cells are increasingly being used in the foundry industry. The Berger Gruppe has implemented more than 1,100 robotic applications in the foundry industry and other sectors.
