Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG entered the race with an innovation that reduces the changeover times of its machines from previously ten hours to just 20 minutes. The Bergisch based company, a specialist in the field of grinding and polishing technology for the manufacture of cutlery, hand tools, surgical workpieces and workpieces for the woodworking industry, presented a fully automated grinding cell including a robot-controlled, specifically designed workpiece feed system. Thanks to the shortened sequences, the systems operate highly efficiently even at low volumes.
